Giving ourselves freedom to feel it. Hiding from a feeling or analyzing it merely interferes with the process. The whole purpose of feeling it is to allow it to diminish. Having permission to feel the emotion and not having to do anything about it ... except experience it... is the step 
What feelings tell us about what we are thinking. When feelings are upset, there is a thought we have that diminishes us in some way. The whole purpose of having feelings is to guide us to that thought and give us an opportunity to change or modify that thought so that it is encouraging and nurturing |
